EKO ID
Manage EKO memberships, licenses,
events, and communications easily.
The official mobile application of the European Karate Organization (EKO)
offers a comprehensive suite of tools designed to streamline
operations and enhance engagement within the karate community.
Licensing is a vital part of participation in the European Karate Organization (EKO) system. With the EKO ID App, the entire licensing process is modernized, digitized, and simplified for national organizations, clubs, and individual members.
Traditionally, the EKO Licence ( required for all EKO championships and official events ) was issued as a physical sticker placed inside paper passports. Now, the EKO ID App offers a secure and efficient digital alternative. National organizations can apply for EKO Licences directly through the app in the same way they did for the sticker system. The licence is mandatory for all competitors and is essential for eligibility in EKO events.
In addition to the official EKO Licence, the app supports National Organization Licences and Club Licences. National organizations can manage their own licensing systems through the app, whether issued annually or monthly, offering flexibility tailored to each country’s structure.
Clubs also have powerful tools within the app. Club administrators can issue and manage club-specific licences or memberships, verify member status, and even use the built-in QR code scanner to instantly grant or validate a licence.
The EKO ID App offers a structured and transparent system for managing gradings across all levels of karate practitioners. Grading is an essential aspect of progression and recognition within the EKO system, and the app ensures this process is clear, standardized, and verifiable.
Gradings are awarded by Grading Committee Chairman / Admin during official grading exams. Higher-level gradings, specifically from 4th Dan and above, are centrally managed and approved by the European Karate Organization (EKO), ensuring uniform standards across all member countries.
For lower-level gradings, the responsibility is delegated to National Organizations and Clubs. Each National Organization has the authority to define which specific grades fall under national versus club jurisdiction. These configurations are managed directly by national administrators within the app.
Participation in tournaments (whether as a competitor, judge, or referee) is now streamlined and digitized. Event participation records can be automatically imported from official competition systems or manually entered by authorized administrators.
European Championships and other major EKO-sanctioned tournaments are entered directly by EKO, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all member profiles. Additionally, National Organizations and Clubs have the autonomy to manage and track participation for their own local and regional events within the app.
The same streamlined approach applies to seminars. Whether it’s an international training camp or a local technical seminar, the app allows for seamless registration, verification of attendance, and official recording of participation.
The EKO Referee and Judge licenses are now managed digitally by EKO. Within the app, EKO is responsible for maintaining official judge, referee and coach licence, including tracking validity and expiration.
National Organizations have the flexibility to define their own referee licensing systems alongside EKO’s. They can set up custom levels and issue national-level licenses to their referees and judges, ensuring proper recognition within domestic events.
The same system applies to Coach licenses. EKO manages international coaching credentials, while National Organizations can configure and issue their own coaching licenses for club and national use.
The EKO ID App features a robust document management system designed to ensure that all official information is easily accessible and well-organized. EKO uses this platform to publish critical documentation including tournament rules, handbooks, application forms - ensuring that all members have access to the latest and most accurate materials.
National Organizations are empowered to manage and share their own official documentation directly within the app. This may include national regulations, guidelines or forms. By centralizing document distribution, National Organizations can maintain clarity and consistency in communication with their members.
Clubs also benefit from document management capabilities. They can upload and distribute club-specific content such as training schedules, internal policies, and consent forms.
The EKO ID App includes a centralized notification system that ensures effective and timely communication across all organizational levels. Notifications can be issued by EKO, National Organizations, or individual Clubs, each targeting their respective audiences.
EKO Notifications are delivered to all members, covering international events, updates, and official announcements. National Organization Notifications are sent to members within a specific country, providing details on national events, policies, or organizational changes. Club Notifications reach only club-affiliated members, keeping them informed of local training sessions, meetings, or internal updates.
Notifications are personalized and may include interactive elements such as action buttons. These can link directly to event registrations, important documents, forms, or external resources—making it easy for users to stay informed and take action instantly.
The EKO ID App offers a combined European calendar of Karate events, giving users access to a comprehensive list of competitions, seminars, and other activities. This centralization allows athletes, coaches and referees to easily find and track all relevant events happening across Europe, including those organized by EKO, national organizations, and local clubs.
Each event listing contains comprehensive information, such as the event’s name, date, location, and the organization responsible for hosting it. This makes it easy for users to find events that match their interests or requirements. Additionally, the app may include external action links for registration or event information.
